Film production companies have been using large scale LED volumes for the actors to perform against pre-shot live action or CGI animation for several years. And the big budget commercials can often stretch the budget to use the same technology – large, well-planned projects that can use the same pipelines as a feature film. But what about the smaller projects. The fast turnaround, lower budget social films. The DOOH that needs something a bit more engaging than the supers moving. Or the product that needs to be shot on location without leaving the studio. At Curious we’ve developed an affordable virtual production technique that fits those budgets. Using an Ncam studio system coupled with live-key technology we can shoot camera matched live action on green whilst you view it keyed and composed with your CGI or AI generated environment. The beauty of this is not only can we take this to any studio anywhere, but the environment can be work in progress and finished at your leisure post shoot.
