Creating a viral campaign with CGI

The brief to Curious was to produce a standout campaign for Knorr’s bouillon stock cubes, the creative centred around an unexpected fashion accessory… a miniature handbag inspired by the product itself. To achieve the level of detail and flexibility the concept demanded, we combined CGI, shoot production and post production within a single integrated workflow.

Early in the development stage we decided that building the bag in CGI was going to be the most effective way to get in close and personal with our shots, this would give us maximum flexibility when exploring shape, texture and lighting with the super close ups, as well as building intrigue before the bag is revealed in its entirety.

The result was a distinctive PR campaign that blended fashion, food and humour into a highly shareable creative idea. The campaign generated 974 million impressions, reached 3.2 million people through influencers, secured 1,649 press mentions, and received industry recognition at both the Gerety Awards and Eurobest, demonstrating how CGI can unlock ambitious creative ideas and deliver measurable campaign success.
