Ford / Deep Blue Sea

Brief

Ford wanted to align their Fiesta model with women’s fashion and the creative concept we needed to bring to life involved a mermaid interacting with the car upon the ocean floor. One of the key factors here was not just the finished ad or to ensure a smooth and efficient shoot, it was to cast someone who not only fitted the brief but who was a free diving specialist.

With a 12 strong crew, familiar with underwater shoots, we captured both stills and moving image extensively across 24 hours at The Underwater Studio in Essex.

Ford are comfortable with using CAD data for their vehicles, and this type of shoot lent itself perfectly to using that. With a blend of rendered CGI, photography and retouching, we were able to faithfully execute an elegant seabed interaction of both car and mermaid for both print and digital execution.

We supplied 1 master landscape and portrait asset for both print and digital to be maximised for their OOH and press delivery.
