Bringing football culture to Formula 1 with CGI

When Visa Cash App Racing Bulls (VCARB) unveiled its special Barcelona Grand Prix livery, the brief was to create a launch that celebrated the crossover between Formula 1 and football culture. Led by Alex Wallbank and Sienna Sprong, with the rest of the team at VCARB, we used CGI and post production to bring the concept to life before the car hit the track.

Inspired by Barcelona’s football heritage and the FIFA World Cup 2026, Sam Swanborough designed a CGI environment based on the visual language of a grassroots street football pitch. The virtual setting provided the perfect backdrop for the bespoke livery, creating a distinctive world that connects one sporting culture to another.

Working closely with the team at VCARB, we integrated the car into the environment and produced a hero animation alongside a suite of high-impact stills. The campaign assets were created for multi-channel delivery, supporting press, social media and local digital out-of-home (DOOH) activity while ensuring the livery could be unveiled consistently across every platform.
